WHAT IS THE WORKING PRINCIPLE OF PSA NITROGEN GAS PLANT?
Our Nitrogen Gas Plants use PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) technology, which includes an absorbent bed of Carbon Molecular Sieve (CMS). Under pressure, this bed selectively draws oxygen rather than nitrogen, allowing nitrogen-rich gas to pass through the vessel. When the CMS exceeds its oxygen absorption capacity, a pressure reduction regenerates the bed, starting a new cycle of nitrogen synthesis.

PSA (PRESSURE SWING ADSORPTION) NITROGEN GENERATION TECHNOLOGY OVERVIEW:
PSA, known as the greatest air separation technology, plays an important role in on-site gas supply. The adsorption balance within the carbon molecular sieve is pressure dependent. Higher pressures promote the adsorption of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and water, whereas lower pressures inhibit their absorption.
​The PSA equipment consists of two adsorption towers, A and B, which house the carbon molecular sieve and the control system. Clean compressed air enters Tower A and absorbs oxygen, carbon dioxide, and water, while nitrogen leaves at the top. Tower A automatically stops adsorption and sends air to Tower B for oxygen adsorption and nitrogen synthesis, allowing Tower A's carbon molecular sieve to regenerate.
PSA NITROGEN GENERATION TECHNOLOGY STAGES:

Feed Air Compression and Conditioning: Ambient air is compressed, dried, and filtered before entering process vessels.

Pressurisation and Adsorption: Pre-treated air travels through a jar containing a Carbon Molecular Sieve, retaining oxygen while achieving adjustable nitrogen purity.

Desorption: Adsorbed gases are released via pressure reduction and discharged as waste, renewing the adsorbent for nitrogen production.

Nitrogen Receiver: Continuous nitrogen generation happens utilising two adsorbers—adsorption in one and regeneration in the other—to ensure high purity (up to 99.995%) and pressure (up to 7.5 bar/110 PSIG).

Air passes through a jar containing a particular substance known as Carbon Molecular Sieve (CMS). This CMS has a secret weapon: it prefers attracting oxygen over nitrogen. As the air passes, oxygen is held in the CMS, while nitrogen flows out, enhanced and ready for your use.
Once the CMS is full of oxygen, it's time for a refresh. We just drop the pressure, and the trapped oxygen is released back into the atmosphere, allowing the CMS to restart the entire process. This cycle is repeated continually, ensuring a consistent supply of pure nitrogen
